Our 80s Movie/TV Heroes
Our Heroes of 80s in Movies/TV was an eclectic mix of country cousins, teachers in alien provided flying pajamas and streetwise city cops visiting Beverly Hills. Keep It Oldskool remembers and wants to help you remember some of those heroes.
Ralph Hinkley "The Greatest American Hero
A mild mannered inner city high school teacher is visited by aliens and
given a special suit that the "Brothers" would have worn to a party in the 70s.
Teamed with a federal agent Ralph fights crimes and stumbles through
using the suit as he lost the instructions.
Axel Foley Beverly Hills Cop 1 &2
You may not believe this but once Eddie Murphy was funny and he didn't play
a donkey to get laughs. Det Axel Foley goes to Beverly Hills first to investigate
his criminal friend's murder (BHC1) and then to investigate the attempted murder
of a policeman pal who saved his back (BHC2) He uses his street smarts to get laughs
and the bad guys at the same time.
Bo and Luke Duke "Dukes of Hazzard"
The Duke boys were cousins living in fictional Hazzard County. The
cousins who live with their long retired whiskey running Uncle Jessie.
The boys got into hi jinks weekly mostly revolving around their Uncle
Jessie one time partner now a rich and corrupt local boss. They tooled
around in a orange Dodge Challenger named the "General Lee" inadvertent
racism aside this was a good show
Col John Matrix "Commando"
Retired Special Forces Colonel John Matrix is living a peaceful
existence with his daughter. Drawn into coup attempt by "Carla's husband
from Cheers" and a ex soldier in his unit, he will need to do what he does
best and that would be to KILL. John Matrix kills 81 people to get his daughter
back.
Michael Knights job was NOT to find the tightest jeans possible, wear leather jackets
in the summer and let his chest hair show. He did it anyway. His sidekick was the worlds first "smart car" KITT. Michael worked for the Foundation of Law and Government who somehow
had jurisdiction all over the country (but mostly Southern California)
"Indiana Jones" Raiders of Lost Ark &
Indiana Jones in the Temple of Doom
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Indiana Jones was the history professor for day job and an action adventurer
off the clock. From looking for and finding the lost ark to the holy grail, this 1930s
archaeologist was always on a quest to find lost artifacts and make sure that they were
placed in a museum. Indy had the uncanny knack of getting out of trouble at the last
possible second. Four our money Indy was one of the greatest heroes of Movies/TV in the
80s.
Like with the villains this list if not a list of ALL the heroes of 80s Movies and TV.
This is just a list of some of our favorites. As always
