Award Tour

THE TOURS....

Keep It Oldskool realizes that there are tours every year and some of the biggest stars headline them  Jay Z, Kanye etc HOWEVER there is a difference in the prices of the ticket (A good seat would cost $29.50) In the 80s the tours that would come to a major city would have current Hall Of Fame artists on the bill. Although tours today will have the popular artists of the day Keep It Oldskool challenges anyone to put a current or recent tour against anyone of the tours listed below.

Fresh Fest Tour 1985
(Kurtis Blow, Whodini, Fatboys, Run-DMC, Jeckyll and Hyde,Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5, Sugarhill Gang, Newcleus)
Not sure but may have been the first super Hip Hop tour.

Raising Hell Tour 1986
(RUNDMC, BEASTIE BOYS,LL COOL J, WHODINI)
Extroplate that! A tour with the biggest rap acts in the world and each a certain Hip Hop Hall of Famers . At the time Raising Hell album is all over the radio and everyone was wearing adidas with no shoestrings in them.

Dope Jam Tour 1988
(Ice T, Doug E Fresh, BDP, Kool Moe Dee,Biz Markie,Eric B and Rakim)
There was  Ice T opening up the show while the lights were still on, Kool Moe Dee  coming out of a smoke filled tube that just popped onto the stage,Doug E Fresh stepping out of a spinng globe. The highlight the evening which was Rakim sitting in a chair that came out of a pyramid and performed "Lyrics of Fury"

There were many other tours that come to mind The Nitro Tour,The Budweiser Superfests etc but the 3 tours listed above go down in history as some of the greatest in Hip Hop History
