"Porky's" was released in 1982 and tells the always raunchy story of teens trying to "get laid" This author was 11 years old when this movie came out so going to see it in the movies was not an option. There was new thing called cable television. All of us preteens thought it was a close to being a porno that you could get. Knowing now that movie is quite tame compared to the films of today and on "Skinamax"
Our fearless heroes on a quest for "it" include Meat, Pee Wee, Timmy, Billy and Tommy. The movie takes place in 1950s Florida at Angel Beach apparently in a town where there are no black people. There are all kinds of shenanigans and hijinks which include a hole in the women’s shower that is used for other methods then sanitation. There is a gym teacher who finds out why they call the other gym teacher "Lassie". Then there is Coach Beulah Balbricker. Whose keen eye for the details "It had a mole on it" threatened to blow the lid off of "Holegate"
The main action in the movie is dedicated to going to Porky’s which is a "night club" where our young friends believe they will be able to live out their fantasy of hiring someone to break "Pee Wee's cherry" The club didn’t look to be a popular place with the "brothers" and of course the underage kids are taken for their money and humiliated. There is something to offend everyone in this movie anti-Semitism, sexism and good old fashion racism. However in 1982 for many of us preteens watching it was the funniest movie ever made. This movie spawned 2 sequels (Porky's II and Porky's III) neither of which were as good as the first one. Also those of us who saw the original had moved on and did not view the sequels as we did the first.
